Definition of a “Christian” means  a “follower of Christ”

What is a disciple?

 

2.) Matthew 5:1, Matthew 8:1

Disciples follow Jesus even when the going gets tough. Everyone wants to follow when its easy.

 

3.) Luke 14:27, Mark 8:34, Matthew 16:25, Luke 9:23

A “disciple” and “follower of Christ” used interchangeably. Self-denial involved.

 

4.) Mark 1:17

Purpose of following Christ to be a “fisher of men” What does this mean?

Jesus came to seek and save the lost. This is also our purpose as his followers and disciples.

Paul acted the way he did so that people could be saved

We must walk as Jesus did if we want to be His followers.

The requirements of being a disciple of Jesus is total, unconditional surrender of self to God.
